What you let in REALLY matters ✨
Lately, I’ve been thinking about how much the content we consume shapes our days, our mood, focus, and energy. The news, social media, podcasts, even what we scroll while waiting in line… it all leaves a mark.
During a particularly low point in COVID, a neighbor said, "you need to watch Ted Lasso." We did, and it IMMEDIATELY boosted the vibrancy of our spirits and our home. It was good-natured, hilarious, sweet, endearing—all the things. Rather than another night doing… who knows what… that show gave us exactly what we needed.
There’s a tipping point between being informed and being consumed. Being intentional about what we let in is mental hygiene.
This last week I’ve become extra aware of how important being mindful of your daily data is—part of D in what I call the Core Four habits. A small shift in what we let in can ripple through your day, making you more present, playful, and energized.
Here’s a little challenge for you this week:
Notice how you feel after scrolling, listening, or watching something. Inspired or drained?
Swap one draining input for one uplifting one
Who doesn’t love a great song, podcast or show rec? I’d love to hear that from YOU, this amazing community:
Who are the musical artists you love?
The podcasts that keep you coming back?
Shows or movies that just feel good?
Reply to this email. I’d love to collect your favorites and share a “go-to inspiration list” so we can all discover new gems.
Here’s to curating our inputs, sharing inspiration, and noticing the ripple effect in our lives!
With love,
Abbey
PS: Being mindful of your inputs is just one of the Core Four habits that shapes your day, your energy, and how you show up. Small, practical choices matter.
